My Sweet Sour Day!

Taryn here! Reporting to you live on my Wednesday activities!
I had one sweet day with my sour lemon friend.
And I do mean BFF!
Seriously, we kicked it together all day!
It all started as I watched my dad get out the Bosch and juice his lemons for the day. He is doing some crazy lemonade cleanse or something!?!

Dad's juicing contraption!

Anyway, I watched him and thought to myself, "I could totally do that just like dad!" So I went to the Bosch cupboard and sure enough there was another juicer in there just for me! I pulled out my juicer, rescued my lemon from the garbage (can you believe my dad threw away my BFF??? Ok, you're right he didn't know we had such a fabulous bond at the time. He's forgiven.) You know what I did next. I loved and squeezed my little yellow friend! ALL DAY!

Just like this! I told you I'm amazing, just like my dad!

Then I squeezed her on the back porch! After lunch I talked my mom into taking off my shirt. When she got distracted cleaning up I ran out in the back yard to be a 'white trash' kid with my brother. At least he has his pants on today! Don't you worry about my little lemon, I took her with me, of course!

I juiced her on our little table that we use to climb on the trampoline!

And then I carted her around the backyard with me. I would have taken her shirt off too, you know, if she had one! I mean really what more could one ask for in a friend? Someone who will go everywhere with you and take all your abuse with a sunny smile? I think I may be the luckiest girl alive! Life is good!

Oh yes, two little more tidbits of information from my exciting life:

I learned how to wink! Byron says its just blinking with two eyes. I think he is full of baloney! Wink, wink! (And despite what you think that is not a perma-booger on my nose! I swear!)

Oh, and last but not least: Byron taught me how to clean my room! Pay no attention to the bed and shelf, but check out my clean floor! My brother may be full of baloney, but he has some great wisdom too -- this only took him 3 minutes! I've got to learn his ways!
Much love till next time -- Taryn here, signing off!

Taryn Talks!

No really she does! I'm suppose I'm typing that to convince myself more than anyone else. Her current vocabulary consists of these words. Mama, Dad, Do (dog), up, "No, No, No", bye, hi, more and hot.  The funny thing about her communication is that she is so casual about it that you almost don't realize that she spoke at all, or that it is a big deal. I'm sure some other children learned to speak even earlier, but I'm still surprised at her skills and age. She is just so good at communicating. She signs more words than she can say, and she always manages to communicate her wants. Very well. Here are a couple of funny Taryn Talk stories! Of course there was the finger wagging "No, no, no!" story in the last post.
Well today she was sitting on Heidi's lap in Laurels. I was helping to shift from opening exercises into our individual class. Apparently Taryn tried unsuccessfully to get my attention by saying, "Mom, mom, mom." Heidi thought that was cute and to be funny said, "my mom." Taryn then proceeded to argue with Heidi saying, "my mom." "My mom." "My mom." After three rounds of the "my mom", Taryn just leaned over ever so slightly and bit Heidi on her arm. Conversation ended! (Don't worry, she just tasted her. Just enough to let her know she meant business I guess :)
When we were at the Grand Canyon Taryn was cruising around the porch in front of the Gift Shop while my mom and Karalee watched her. Back and forth she toddled and anytime anyone tried to pick her up she would veer away. After a few passes she noticed an elderly gentleman sitting alone a few chairs down. She kept walking closer to him cocking her head to each side and looking into his face. When she caught his attention she lifted her little hand into a wave and said, "Hi!" Then turned and toddled back.
She is so funny and never misses out on the joke. If your laughing, she is too. A very forced laugh, but a laugh all the same. She even covers her little mouth while she chuckles. I'll have to pay attention to see where she gets that from. She is in the copy and mimic stage! She does everything her mom, dad and big brother do. It is so cute! I just love her!

Taryn sporting her new shades!

Taryn loves sunglasses and has never broken a pair. She is amazingly gentle with them, so we bought her this pair from the gift shop. She thought she was pretty cool, but she still seems to want whatever pair I'm wearing!

Taryn Time!

Here are five sweet pictures of my little girl!
Sleeping Peacefully! She was 2 months old!
2 1/2 months. With her big eyes wide open! And I just love her pouty little lips!
Peacefully sleeping naked in her bath towel!
I just know she is thinking, "I'm just like the big kids, slurping my own Capri Sun out of a straw!
"That's right! Show me the Love!"
or
"Oh my goodness, can you get her to stop, or what?"

This little sweetheart is so full of spunk and fun! She never stops moving, and I mean NEVER! Even those who love her and bribe her into letting them hold her, will eventually give up and put her back on the floor. She is so squirmy it makes her difficult to hold on too. At church, or any other time/place when you just need her to freeze for a second all you have to do is hang her upside down or let her hang her head off your lap. She loves it and will generally look around for ten minutes, or until her face is so red that I feel like I'm torturing her. (You should see some of the looks I get walking the halls with an upside down baby!)
Taryn doesn't cry much at all. Only when she is hurt or really tired. However, she is really great at letting you know what she wants, by yelling! She will just sit in her high chair and holler when she runs out of food, until you get her more! She hollers about most everything, happy, sad, mad and frustrated! She is loud too! She loves to hear herself talk, LOUDLY! It is pretty cute. She is a crack up to watch and listen to when you sit her in front of a mirror!
She is a picky eater! (Not in the same way her daddy is though.) She has never given any baby cereal (i.e. rice, oatmeal, barley) the time of day, and will actually seal her lips together should you attempt to feed them to her. She will gladly eat cooked original oatmeal with the rest of the clan! She loves balsamic vinagriette covered noodles (from my pasta salad), this one surprised us! She likes her food to be seasoned and warm. One fun food story--she would not eat her sweet potato chunks and was yelling at me! I warmed, buttered, salted and peppered them and the whole 1/2 cup was gone in under 3 minutes!

She is such a happy baby! We think she may skip quickly over crawling in favor of walking. She has only been crawling distances for a week or two, and she has been pulling up on things for the past few days and is starting to cruise along them! Look out world! Here comes Taryn!
